I just received a question from a reader and I thought I would share it. I think it is a good topic...
Hi. I was just reading this post and wondered how you came up with this storyline?
My answer - Well, my strongest memories are of high school in Sheridan - You know, it's odd but during those years, well, I really didn't appreciate how great they were. I had the best of friends and we had the best of times. So when I sat down to write my first novel, it had to be based in Sheridan and it had to be about a kid in high school. I love horror and apocalyptic story-lines so I wanted to do something with that. So I thought, What if God, just got tired of the way we are always killing and stealing from each other and just ... left? And then I thought what if God was the only thing keeping these horrors from hell from getting us? The story (all three novels) wrote themselves. I know a lot of writers say they have to have an outline. I just clear my mind of every except the idea I have in mind and the words come out. It gets easier every time. I am on my fifth novel, ADAMS BONES and I am 1/3 done and have no idea how it will end! Thank you for asking!
Patrick C. Van Slyke. I hope to write horror. I hope people will read it.
